I was trying to do the hardware monitor, but when I tried to flash the imager to the microsd, my microsd is no longer detected by my pc and it won't let me format the sd drive. Has anyone else had this issue?

why do you want to format your sd card after flashing it? If flashing was successful you won't need to access the card on your PC anymore. just remove it and put it into your Raspberry Pi
