I recently move to a new apartment and with it comes a new wifi/network setup. I bought a nice dual-band netgear smart router, however i think this may be where the issue lies. My Raspberry Pi Zero WH can only connect to the 2.4GHz band due to hardware limitations, whereas my desktop is hardwired in but the router has placed it on the 5GHz band. Any of y'all know how to fix this?

That wouldn't matter, they are the same network regardless of 2.4 or 5, this is just signal space. Did you create a guest wifi network separate from your main?
