Unable to get Vram Total

5 people are following

Hi all,

Love the app, and really enjoying it.  Even modified Dubbadhar to a star wars theme.

But since I installed a new video card (I went from a Nvidia 1050ti 2gb, to a Radeon 5500xt 8gb), I am unable to get the total vram on the video card in the MoBro app.  I can see it in Hwinfo under the summary under video card, but can't locate it anywhere else.  But needless to say, I can't display it.  Even using Astern, it does not display it properly.

Any ideas?? Greatly appreciate it any help.

Mike

Hey @mhuston619,

are you using HWiNFO as a data source for the VRAM? It could be that Libre & Open Hardware Monitor are not reading the values correctly, but if you see the correct values in HWiNFO you should be able to use them inside MoBro aswell.

It also depends on what values the Themes are using / you configured inside the theme customization.

Hey Ghostz,  thanks for replying.  I'm including 2 pictures that shows the only place where HWinfo shows my memory and what I can reference when trying to assign the total vram in Mod-Bros.  Libre and Open has no data available for vram it seems (at least for me).

Thanks for the help,

Mike

Hi @mhuston619

only the sensor values from HWiNFO are available in MoBro.
The total vram in your screenshot is listed in the main window when selecting the graphics card. Sadly we do not have access to that data and so it's not available in MoBro.

I am seeing a similar issue here, I have two GPUs

GPU0 - RTX 3070

GPU1 - RTX 3080

The different monitors picks up the 3070 ok, however all three monitors picks up the 3080 (GPU1) as having the same values as the 3070 (GPU0)

Thanks. That indeed looks like it's returning the exact same data for both graphics cards.

The HWiNFO data seems to be correct though as it shows different values for the currently used memory on the 3070 (4515MB) and 3080 (5508MB)

Could you install OpenHardwareMonitor and quickly check if it is showing different values for the two GPUs?

looks like its returning the same memory for both too, but its returning the memory of the 3080 not the 3070 like modbros does

In that case there's unfortunately nothing that we can really do :/

We are just reading and using the values that are provided by OpenHardwareMonitor and LibreHardwareMonitor. If those are incorrect, like in your example, these incorrect values will be shown in MoBro.

You could switch all your graphs and widgets to use the values from HWiNFO, which should be correct.

hwinfo returns the correct values but it doesnt show properly in modbros

I think I don't really get it. What exactly do you mean by "it doesnt show properly in modbros"?

Are the 'GPU Memory Allocated', ‘GPU D3D Memory Dedicated’ and ‘GPU D3D Memory Dynamic’ values shown in your screenshot wrong?
Are they different than those shown directly in HWiNFO?
